Description

Until I Burnt Out is a maximalist decor beaded textile artwork, dense, accumulated beadwork filling the surface with little room for expansion, contained and pressurised. For a long time I was holding everything together, work, relationships, responsibilities, life. On the surface it looked fine, but I was running on empty. This piece came from recognising that point where there was nothing left to give. It's about the cost of carrying too much alone.

Part of my Sparkle Series exploring the inner experiences that shape everyday life but are often kept private, this piece is entirely one of a kind. Presented in an 8.8 x 8.8 cm wooden embroidery hoop, colourful wall art ready to hang or display on a shelf, created in my Melbourne studio.
