The Walls I Built is a hand-stitched mixed-media beadwork piece by Samira Stephens. We often build walls as a protective mechanism, and the walls I built turned into a castle, where I trapped myself at the top of the tower.
This piece is about letting the walls down, and in turn the walls began to tumble, bricks blooming into a beautiful garden.
Presented in an 8.8 x 8.8 cm wooden embroidery hoop, this one-of-a-kind colourful wall art is made in Melbourne.
