She is all about the surface, layered glazes in combinations of glossy and matte, textures pressed in from lace and stamp pads, building up a surface that is tactile and completely unique. 6 designs available, each one a different glaze experiment. Handmade from scratch in Melbourne.

Story Behind the Piece

Maisie came from a deep curiosity about what happens when you layer different types of glazes over each other, glossy over matte, matte over glossy, and what happens when texture gets involved. Lace pressed into clay leaves the most beautiful impression. I find the contrast between smooth and textured surfaces endlessly interesting.

Artist Notes

I hand build each Maisie from stoneware clay, pressing lace or stamp textures into the surface before it dries. The glaze layering happens after bisque firing, combining glossy and matte glazes in combinations I am testing and exploring. After the second firing I attach the hardware by hand. Each pair is genuinely one of a kind.
