Lingering

Description

Lingering is a beaded textile artwork, compressed clusters of beadwork dissolving into more open areas, the piece moving between density and quiet space. Some experiences don't fully leave, they just fade and settle into the background. I made this while thinking about how those traces still shape the present. They aren't as sharp as they once were, but they're not gone either. It's about learning to live alongside what remains.

Part of my Sparkle Series exploring the inner experiences that shape everyday life but are often kept private, this piece is entirely one of a kind. Presented in an 8.8 x 8.8 cm wooden embroidery hoop, colourful wall art ready to hang or display on a shelf, created in my Melbourne studio.
