Introducing Clara Wildflower, a round ceramic magnet from the La Luminosa collection. She features a hand painted vase of loose scattered blue wildflower stems, painterly and free on a creamy stoneware base. The kind of thing that makes your fridge feel like a gallery wall. Two neodymium magnets on the back so she stays put. One of a kind, handmade in Melbourne.

Story Behind the Piece

Clara came from a long love of flowers in vases as a motif. There is something about the way a single stem in a simple vase can feel so complete. I wanted to paint that feeling in miniature, the kind of still life you might find in a sketchbook or on the wall of somewhere you felt at home.

Artist Notes

I roll out the stoneware clay, cut each shape and hand paint using nail polish brushes for the fine detail work. Underglaze goes on before a clear glaze coat and firing. Two neodymium magnets are attached by hand after the second firing. I chose stoneware specifically because these live on fridges and need to be hardy enough to survive the occasional fall.

Care Instructions

Handle with care as ceramic can chip if dropped

About the Series

La Luminosa means "the radiant" in Italian. This collection started with one thing, my love of sparkle and reflections of light. I wanted it to feel light and airy, a culmination of my exploration of new materials in the Summer of 25/26.
