Introducing the Cara Ceramic Square Necklace. She features a clean square pendant in stoneware, hand painted with layered underglazes and hung on a stainless steel chain. Much lighter than she looks. 2 designs available, each one a different glaze combination. A classic shape made unique by the making process. Handmade from scratch in Melbourne.

Story Behind the Piece

Cara came from a love of the square as a form, structured and satisfying. The small scale means every glaze decision reads differently and because I sometimes use these as glaze test tiles, the results surprise me too. Classic shape, completely one of a kind finish.

Artist Notes

I hand build each Cara from stoneware clay, cut to a square shape and hand painted with layered underglazes before glazing and firing. After the second firing I attach the chain and hardware by hand. Lighter on the neck than you would expect.
