Story Behind the Piece

Ottavia came to me from a fascination with the colour of skies and the kind of pastel palette you find in renaissance cloud paintings. Soft, luminous, almost impossibly gentle. I wanted to make something that felt like that.

Artist Notes

I hand wire wrapped Ottavia bead by bead, building the colour combination until it felt like the right balance of purple, pink and white. The palette is the piece. I assembled all the hardware by hand to complete her.

About the Series

La Luminosa means "the radiant" in Italian. This collection started with one thing, my love of sparkle and reflections of light. I wanted it to feel light and airy, a culmination of my exploration of new materials in the Summer of 25/26.
