Introducing Mila Strawberry, a square ceramic magnet from the La Luminosa collection. She features a bold hand painted blue strawberry, graphic and cheerful on a creamy stoneware base. Summery, full of personality and completely one of a kind, handmade in Melbourne. Two neodymium magnets on the back so she stays put.

Story Behind the Piece

Mila came from a love of summer and the kind of images that make you feel warm just looking at them. Strawberries, sunshine, the French word for sun. These are the motifs of long days and good moods, the kind of small joy you want on your fridge all year round.

Artist Notes

Each Mila magnet is rolled, cut into a square shape and hand painted using nail polish brushes. The colour palette here is warmer and bolder than some of the other magnets, which felt right for the summery motifs. Underglaze goes on before a clear glaze coat and firing. Two neodymium magnets are attached by hand after.

About the Series

La Luminosa means "the radiant" in Italian. This collection started with one thing, my love of sparkle and reflections of light. I wanted it to feel light and airy, a culmination of my exploration of new materials in the Summer of 25/26.
