Description

Held is a hand stitched embroidery hoop artwork, compact beadwork forming a contained, steady field with a single feather worked in among the beads, materials sitting closely together for a sense of quiet stability. I made this while thinking about what it feels like to be supported without having to ask for it. Not something you earn, just something that's there. There's a particular calm that comes from knowing you don't have to carry everything alone. This piece sits in that feeling.

Part of my Sparkle Series exploring the inner experiences that shape everyday life but are often kept private, this piece is entirely one of a kind. Presented in an 8.8 x 8.8 cm wooden embroidery hoop, colourful wall art ready to hang or display on a shelf, created in my Melbourne studio.
