Close Enough

Description
Close Enough is a beaded textile artwork, a tightly worked surface of beads and sequins punctuated by small breaks and irregularities that soften the overall density. I made this while learning when to stop. Perfectionism can stretch a process out forever if you let it. At some point I had to decide it was finished, even if it wasn't flawless. Close Enough is about accepting that done can be enough.

Part of my Sparkle Series exploring the inner experiences that shape everyday life but are often kept private, this piece is entirely one of a kind. Presented in an 8.8 x 8.8 cm wooden embroidery hoop, colourful wall art ready to hang or display on a shelf, created in my Melbourne studio.
