She features the most beautiful marbled shell rectangle beads as the centrepiece, with aventurine crystal chips, glass seed beads and faceted beads building above. The marbling on the shell is like nothing else, almost from another world. Hand wire wrapped in Melbourne and one of a kind.

Story Behind the Piece

Calista came to me from a set of shell beads I had been holding onto, waiting for the right moment. The marbling effect on them stopped me every time I looked at them. Some materials just wait until they are ready to become something.

Artist Notes

I hand wire wrapped Calista around those shell beads, everything else in the piece exists to frame them. The aventurine chips and faceted beads add texture and light above, but the shell is always where your eye goes first. I assembled all the hardware by hand to complete the piece.

About the Series

La Luminosa means "the radiant" in Italian. This collection started with one thing, my love of sparkle and reflections of light. I wanted it to feel light and airy, a culmination of my exploration of new materials in the Summer of 25/26.
