Story Behind the Piece

Amelia came from wanting to make something that was just purely sweet. Tiny hearts, small colourful details, nothing more. There is something about making something this small that requires complete focus and a completely different kind of care. I love her for it.

Artist Notes

I hand build each Amelia from stoneware clay, cutting the tiny heart shape and adding delicate colourful underglaze touches before glazing and firing. After the second firing I attach the stud hardware by hand. The tininess is the whole point.
