I was drawn to the original image for its strength and femininity and I wanted to sit with it long enough to really understand it. Every sequin, every fold, every highlight was painted mark by mark on a digital canvas. It was also where I learned the most about how light behaves on different textures, something that now influences how I approach surface and glaze in my ceramic practice.
